Thai police arrest alleged online gambling network facilitator in Pattaya

Enforcement & compliance

Thai police arrested a 32-year-old man in Pattaya over alleged links to an online gambling network associated with Shwe Kokko in Myanmar. Police alleged that he facilitated gambling at 239 casinos and served about 330,000 Chinese gamblers; authorities said he was being processed for deportation to China. Separately, Thailand’s Anti-Money Laundering Office reported freezing 34 assets worth about THB8.269bn in a case involving fraud, drug trafficking and human trafficking.

The arrest and asset freezes signal enforcement action against alleged gambling-linked criminal networks operating across borders.
