Thai cyber police arrest 12 over alleged World Cup betting network
Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) said it arrested 12 people in raids across Bangkok, Samut Prakan and Tak over an alleged online gambling and money-laundering network. Police said the targeted platform recorded about THB1 billion ($29.9 million) in monthly turnover over the previous three months; 15 people had arrest warrants, with three still at large.
The arrests and asset freezes signal enforcement exposure for operators and payment networks linked to illegal betting in Thailand.
