Stake Italy says revised concession regime leaves 52 licensed domains

Regulation

Stake Italy Country Director Fabio Angeli Bufalini said Italy’s revised online concession framework has reduced the market from about 300 domains to 52, operated by 46 companies. He said the regime took effect in November 2025 and includes tighter compliance requirements, with some player-protection measures due to start in November. Bufalini said Stake paid a €7m licence fee and spends an amount equivalent to 0.2% of revenue on responsible-gambling advertising.

The revised regime changes the licensed market’s scale and adds compliance costs for operators such as Stake.
