Springfield sues MGM Resorts over Massachusetts casino commitments
The city of Springfield sued MGM Resorts International over alleged shortfalls in commitments for MGM Springfield under its host community agreement. The city says the casino has 1,600 gaming machines and 50 table games, against commitments for more than 2,800 machines and at least 75 tables; MGM says the dispute concerns the city’s handling of its proposed sale of the casino operations.
The lawsuit challenges casino commitments under the host agreement while MGM disputes the city’s handling of its proposed sale.
