Spanish Congress removes gambling amendment from customer service bill
Spain’s Congress approved the Customer Service Bill without its proposed gambling provision, reportedly after backing a deletion amendment by 177 votes to 171. The amendment, introduced by the People’s Party and supported by Vox and Junts, removed the bill’s fourth final provision; Jdigital director general Jorge Hinojosa said changes to gambling rules should be handled through a separate reform process.
The vote leaves the proposed gambling provisions out of this bill, while a separate reform could still be pursued.
