Spain temporarily blocks Kalshi and Polymarket during authorisation probe
Spain’s Ministry of Consumer Rights temporarily blocked access to Kalshi and Polymarket from Spanish IP addresses while it investigates whether they operated without the required authorisation, the ministry said. The restrictions are expected to last three to four months, and the platforms must not accept local players during the probe. The ministry said prediction markets involving bets on uncertain outcomes require a specific administrative licence in Spain.
The restriction prevents the platforms from accepting Spanish users while their authorisation status is examined.
