South Korea ministry plans expanded teen gambling treatment referrals
South Korea’s Ministry of Gender Equality and Family plans to expand how teenagers with gambling addiction are identified and referred for treatment, according to a report citing a ministry statement. Ministry discussions included training youth counsellors and staff, improving referrals and working with treatment institutions; teenagers represented 24.3% of the agency’s treatment-service users in 2025, up from 6.2% in 2021.
The planned referral and training changes concern services responding to teenagers seeking help for gambling addiction.
