Regulation1 min read

In brief

  • Murcia's tax agency ATRM has begun amending the region's General Gambling Register.
  • The change covers electronic bingo formats regulated by Decree 164/2026, approved in September.
  • New sections would cover organisers, operators, distribution networks and technical systems.

The Murcia Tax Agency (ATRM) has formally begun amending the region's General Gambling Register to cover electronic bingo formats regulated by Decree 164/2026, approved in September.

The reform is intended to update registry rules that had remained in force since 2007, which the report describes as outdated given technological change in the sector. One of the main changes would be new sections to identify and control the companies that organise and operate these formats, as well as distribution networks. The register would no longer focus only on traditional establishments and companies, and would also cover the business and technological structure behind electronic bingo and electronic bingo in venues.

The update would particularly affect the technical systems used to run the games. The draft provides for registering and controlling these systems, together with the computing elements needed for these formats to operate.

According to a document signed by ATRM director Eduardo José Prieto Giménez, the amendment aims to ensure legal certainty and the correct management and application of taxes linked to these activities.
