Singapore authorities step up illegal gambling enforcement for World Cup
Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Social and Family Development said on 9 June that police would continue enforcement against illegal gambling during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Authorities may restrict access to illegal online gambling services and advertisements, while linked phone numbers and payment accounts can also be terminated or blocked. Singapore Pools is the country’s only licensed operator for lotteries, sports betting and remote gambling.
Operators and payment providers face enforcement measures against services and transactions linked to unlicensed gambling.
