Singapore activates casino suitability and patron-data rules on 21 September

Regulation

Singapore brought a second tranche of casino-law amendments into force on 21 September, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Family Development. The changes let the Gambling Regulatory Authority consider unethical conduct and systemic control or governance failures when assessing casino operators, and require casinos to share patron information for financial-crime controls. The rules also cover gaming software approvals, electronic credits and responsible-gambling measures.

Casino operators must meet expanded suitability tests and share patron information under the new rules.
