Sicily court rejects urgent challenge to 30-day bingo hall suspension

Enforcement & compliance

The TAR Sicily rejected the operators’ request to suspend a Questura order closing a Palermo venue, reportedly after the 30-day suspension had already expired. The order covered public-security licences for bingo, sports betting and VLTs after authorities classified an event on 14 January 2026 as an unauthorised public performance. A separate customs agency proceeding could address the concession.

The ruling leaves the expired closure in place while a separate proceeding could affect the venue’s concession.
