- Tar Lazio rejected two requests for immediate suspension of revised bingo concession extension fees.
- The decisions do not address the legality of the amounts set by the agency.
- A panel hearing on both appeals is set for 2 December.
The Lazio Regional Administrative Court (Tar Lazio) has rejected two requests for interim suspension of the revised fee that bingo concessionaires owe for the provisional continuation of their concessions. In two decrees, the president of the court's Second Section found that the conditions for a single-judge interim measure were not met. A panel hearing on both appeals is set for 2 December.
The dispute centres on the directorial determination of 31 July 2026, issued by the gaming directorate of the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli, which recalculated the indemnity operators owe for the concession extension period running from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2026. The monthly sums differ according to the turnover of the concessionaires. The lowest monthly figure is 3.250 euro, applied to concessionaires with revenue of 1,2 milioni di euro or less. The highest monthly figure is 9mila euro, applied to operators whose turnover is above 17 milioni. Where a period lasts 15 days or less, the amount is cut in half.
The court president noted that the agency's measure invites recipients to submit observations within a reasonable period and does not demand immediate payment of the sums indicated. The decisions do not address the legality of the amounts set by the agency or of subsequent communications.
