Scotts Valley Tribe seeks dismissal of three lawsuits over Vallejo land approval
The Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians filed motions on 5 December seeking dismissal of three federal lawsuits challenging the Department of the Interior’s approval of land for a proposed casino in Vallejo, according to the report. The opposing tribes contend the department erred; the DOI is separately reconsidering whether the parcel qualifies for gaming on restored lands and has said its earlier approval may have involved legal error.
The motions add a procedural step to litigation over the proposed casino while the DOI reviews gaming eligibility.
