Sands China appointed Siu Hera Kitwan as an independent non-executive director, effective 23 September, according to a company filing. Siu joined the audit committee, while Steven Zygmunt Strasser retired from the board and will remain a consultant. The company also named existing director Chung Kit Yi Kitty to chair its remuneration committee.
The board and committee changes affect Sands China’s governance and oversight arrangements.

Singapore’s betting tax receipts increased 11.9% to $2.84bn in FY2025/26. Overall tax receipts grew 9.4%. Singapore combines gambling duties with casino tax in its reporting, preventing a separate assessment of casino contributions.
A Singapore court blocked Venetian Macau from enforcing a $2.5m casino debt judgment. The decision concerns enforcement in Singapore, and the court said casinos could still pursue recovery elsewhere.
Sands China announced an interim dividend of HKD0.50 (US$0.06) per share. The dividend doubles the prior-year payment and totals HKD4.05bn, with payment scheduled for 9 October 2026.
Sands China reported a decline in second-quarter profit, as Macao casino operators continued a difficult start to the second half of the year. The company's share price rose to almost HKD 14 ($1.80) by the end of last week.
Las Vegas Sands reported second-quarter 2026 net revenue of $3.15 billion, down from $3.18 billion a year earlier, and net income of $373 million, compared with $519 million. The company attributed the results partly to weak VIP gaming hold in Macao and reduced high-value customer travel during the World Cup; its board also authorised a $6.0 billion share repurchase amount through 21 July 2029.
