Sánchez calls Spanish snap election, delaying proposed gambling reforms
Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez called a snap election for 29 November, bringing it forward from next year, and the move is expected to delay proposed Gambling Act reforms. The proposals include tighter rules on celebrity and influencer advertising, customer acquisition promotions and search-engine adverts, while approved cross-operator deposit limits are due to take effect in March 2027.
Operators may face a delay to proposed advertising and promotions rules, while approved deposit limits remain scheduled to take effect.
