Italy's Guardia di Finanza in Rome imposed an administrative fine of €5,000 after officers found a slot machine operating outside the hours permitted by municipal rules, the force said. The inspection took place during checks in the Nomentano and Italia districts, in the city's Municipio II, the force said.
The checks were carried out in recent hours by the Comando Provinciale della Guardia di Finanza di Roma as part of a special economic and territorial control plan, according to the force. More than 60 officers were deployed, along with dog units and Baschi Verdi, with attention directed at minimarkets and neighbourhood businesses in the local nightlife area.
In total, 103 economic and financial interventions were carried out during the operation, the force said. The slot machine was found among inspections at bars and gaming halls, and the fine was issued under municipal rules intended to counter gambling disorder.
