Queensland liquor regulator sets networked ID scanner requirements for venues

Regulation

Source: OLGR Queensland

Queensland’s Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation says venues must operate networked ID scanners when they meet specified late-trading, location and licence conditions. Exemptions apply to listed licence categories unless a licence condition requires scanning; generally, only licensed crowd controllers may operate the scanners, subject to training and supervision exceptions.

Affected venue operators must determine whether scanning rules apply and ensure permitted, supervised staff operate the equipment.
