Macau’s Judiciary Police arrested six mainland Chinese suspects over an alleged operation livestreaming slot-machine games from a Cotai casino to gamblers in mainland China. Police said officers seized seven mobile phones, HK$23,000 in cash and slot-machine vouchers worth HK$67,975; the case was referred to the Public Prosecutions Office.
Police in South Korea’s North Chungcheong province referred 13 people on suspicion of operating an illegal gambling site from Vietnam and investigated 105 players, according to the report. Investigators said 3,553 users deposited a total of 63bn won; a court authorised freezing 186.35m won pending possible confiscation.
Ulsan police referred 12 suspects to prosecutors over an alleged illegal online gambling network in South Korea. Investigators allege the operation handled more than KRW60bn in wagers between November 2022 and July 2025 and manipulated YouTube audiences to attract bettors. Police requested Interpol Red Notices for five further suspects believed to be in Thailand.
Brazil’s Federal Police said on Wednesday 15 April that it had carried out arrests and searches across eight states and the Federal District in an investigation into an alleged criminal organisation. Investigators suspect the group laundered more than R$1.6bn, with funds allegedly sourced from unregulated betting platforms, illegal online raffles and international drug trafficking.
Incheon Yeonsu District police said they arrested and charged five people after raiding a suspected gambling venue in South Korea on 5 April. Police said the group had played about 50 times and that losers paid winners 3,000 won per game, plus 1,000 won per point. The investigation was ongoing, police said.
