Puerto Varas mayor criticises Chile casino tender outcome
Puerto Varas mayor Tomás Gárate criticised Chile’s Superintendence of Gaming Casinos after it ended the evaluation of two casino-operation bids and declared the tender unsuccessful. The SCJ said the applicants did not fully meet legal and regulatory requirements; Gárate said the result delays investment and called for new tender rules to be issued promptly. Dreams also disputed the SCJ’s assessment.
A new tender will be needed before a casino operating permit can be awarded in Puerto Varas.
