Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation sues Kansas Lottery over reservation sales
The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation filed a federal lawsuit against the Kansas Lottery on 6 July, alleging unauthorised lottery ticket sales and machines at about two dozen locations on its reservation. The Nation asks the court to halt the operations and affirm that its approximately 900-square-mile reservation remains Indian land under federal law.
Operators and regulators should note the Nation’s request to halt lottery activity and affirm its reservation’s status.
