Poland’s president vetoes bill raising tax on gambling winnings to 15%
Poland’s president Karol Nawrocki vetoed amendments that would have raised tax on winnings from competitions, games and mutual betting from 10% to 15%. Nawrocki said the tax increases would burden citizens and argued they were primarily intended to address the public finance deficit. He added that Parliament would need to take further action on the Personal Income Tax Act amendment.
The veto leaves the proposed increase to Poland’s tax on gambling winnings unimplemented pending further parliamentary action.
