PMU has appointed Cyrille Giraudat as chief executive, effective from the start of January 2026, the company said. He will replace Emmanuelle Malecaze-Doublet, who left the role in September; several government ministries approved the appointment.
The appointment sets PMU’s leadership from January as it operates in France’s regulated betting market.

France's ANJ and CNIL published practical guidance on applying data-protection rules in the gambling sector, the report said. The guidance addresses operator obligations including data retention, marketing consent and biometric identity checks, and says it does not create new requirements.

France’s Autorité Nationale des Jeux said its new algorithm identified about 600,000 online players with a high probability of excessive gambling in the second half of 2025. They represented 8.7% of the licensed online account-based gambling population and generated €1.2bn, or 60% of online gambling GGR; about 300,000 were classed as manifestly excessive. The regulator expects operators to use the tool to improve detection of at-risk gambling.
