Peru’s Chamber of Deputies revives bill to change online gambling tax
Peru’s Chamber of Deputies will resume processing a bill to change the selective consumption tax on domestic and foreign online betting, after the Executive observed it in July 2025. The proposal would allow the Economy and Finance Ministry to set rates from 0.3% to 7% and immediately raise the rate from 1% to 3%. The Executive had warned that the proposed tax-base changes could reduce annual receipts to PEN 14m–PEN 28m, against a stated potential of PEN 284m at the 1% rate.
Operators could face a revised tax rate if the revived bill advances and becomes law.
