Italian Chamber advances tax decree as Merola says gambling-advertising proposal was rejected
Italy’s Chamber of Deputies approved a bill converting the urgent tax decree, which now proceeds to the other house of parliament, according to the report. Virginio Merola said proposals to strengthen action against indirect gambling advertising and direct additional revenue towards addiction prevention were not accepted. Article 2-ter also changes the tax treatment of certain gambling-sector expenses.
The bill’s tax provisions affect gambling operators, while the rejected proposal leaves the requested advertising measures out of this stage.
