PAGCOR chief cites energy costs and reviews gaming operations separation

Regulation

PAGCOR chairman and chief executive Alejandro Tengco said higher energy costs are affecting gaming markets including the Philippines, Singapore, Macau and the United States. He said the agency would adapt while keeping responsible gambling central to its work. Tengco also said the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations is still reviewing a proposal to separate PAGCOR’s regulatory and operating roles.

Higher energy costs are affecting gaming markets, while the pending review could reshape PAGCOR’s regulatory and operating roles.
