PAGCOR expects approval for decoupling as Casino Filipino losses may reach US$111m
PAGCOR chair and chief executive Alejandro Tengco expects the Governance Commission for Government-Owned or Controlled Corporations to recommend separating the regulator’s oversight and operating roles to the Office of the President. He said Casino Filipino’s losses could rise from about Php6 billion (US$95 million) to Php7 billion (US$111 million) by year-end 2026, citing operating costs and integrated-resort competition.
Decoupling could allow interested integrated resorts to buy some Casino Filipino branches if the proposal is approved.
