OpenBet goes live with Loterie Romande sportsbook in six Swiss cantons

Deals & M&A · SectorWire deskSource published 2 min read

OpenBet's sportsbook technology is now live with Loterie Romande in Switzerland's six French-speaking cantons, reaching players through online channels, self-service betting terminals and retail points of sale. The JouezSport omnichannel sportsbook has been shifted onto the OpenBet platform, and the rollout covers 2,350 point-of-sale retail locations. Loterie Romande holds the exclusive regulated sports betting licence for those cantons and belongs to the World Lottery Association (WLA).

A Cash Out feature went live across Loterie Romande's digital channels on day one of the launch, part of broader work on the omnichannel player experience. AI-enhanced odds and risk management reach the operator through OpenBet's Managed Trading Services, and the OpenBet Trading System platform serves as a hub coordinating multiple vendors, giving access to data, trading services and content via one integration. With this agreement OpenBet gains another WLA member as a customer; its technology currently powers more than 20 lotteries worldwide, and as a Gold Contributor to the WLA it must satisfy the association's standards for social responsibility, responsible gaming, security and risk management.

The supplier arrived at this launch after a busy stretch. Across its global platform customers during the FIFA World Cup 2026, OpenBet handled more than 175 million bets and over $3 billion in stakes, a period it called its largest betting event to date, and it reported no outages from the opening match through to the final. Reportedly, these volumes arrived as the wider sector saw a Kambi record World Cup.

Nikos Konstakis, President at OpenBet, described the tie-up with Loterie Romande as a source of pride, noting that Cash Out was available from launch and citing a firm commitment to responsible gaming and regulatory compliance. Jean-Luc Moner-Banet, CEO of Loterie Romande, explained that the supplier's sportsbook technology, track record and customer-centric approach made it the right fit to understand the operator's particular needs and the obvious pick for developing the player experience.

Loterie Romande works within Switzerland's regulated betting framework, and shifting to OpenBet brings its sports betting activity together on one platform that serves online players plus more than 2,000 retail outlets.
