Ontario’s licensed online gambling market recorded more than CAD9.2 billion in wagers in October, according to data from iGaming Ontario. The market had nearly 1.3 million active accounts and reported CAD367.7 million in non-adjusted revenue. Online casino play accounted for about 85% of wagers.
The figures provide operators and investors with a snapshot of wagering, customer activity and revenue in Ontario.

iGaming Ontario reported C$8.735bn in total wagers in February, 8% below January, and non-adjusted gross gaming revenue of C$342.4m, down 15%. Sports wagers fell 20% to C$946m and sports revenue declined 29% to C$61.3m; the figures cover the regulated commercial market and exclude the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation platform.
Ontario’s regulated online gambling market recorded €6.46 billion in wagers in May, reportedly 2% more than in April. Operators retained €280.9 million before deductions, also up 2%; casino wagers accounted for €5.71 billion, while sports wagers fell 7% to €661 million.
Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is to suspend PointsBet’s licence over its handling of suspicious NBA wagers on former Toronto Raptors centre Jontay Porter, according to a report. The operator reportedly took 18 months to confirm that it had accepted the bets.
