Oklahoma governor vetoes bill targeting sweepstakes casinos

Regulation

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt vetoed Senate Bill 1589 on 7 May, blocking a proposal to bring online sweepstakes casino operators and related service providers under state gambling law. The bill had passed the Senate 48–0 and the House 65–21; lawmakers have until 29 May to override the veto.

The veto leaves the proposed restrictions on sweepstakes operators and their service providers on hold unless lawmakers override it.
