NICC extends Star Sydney licence suspension until June 2027

Enforcement & compliance

New South Wales' Independent Casino Commission extended the suspension of Star Sydney’s casino licence until June 2027, citing concerns about remediation of governance, leadership and culture issues. The regulator also pointed to Star’s ongoing civil proceedings with AUSTRAC; Star Sydney has operated under a suspended licence since October 2022.

The extension keeps Star Sydney operating under a suspended casino licence for longer, affecting its regulatory status and operations.
