The Nexus Observatory on Addictions has reached Valle d’Aosta with the fourth regional publication of "L’Italia delle Dipendenze 2025". In 2025 the Valle d’Aosta local health authority recorded 690 cases taken into care in total, covering substance, alcohol and gambling disorder dependencies.

Substances accounted for 368 people, or 53.3% of the total. Alcohol followed with 283 people, or 41%. Gambling disorder accounted for 39 people, or 5.7%. The data cover the only health authority operating in the region.

Of the 39 people with gambling disorder, 30 were men and nine were women. The most represented age group was 36 to 55, with 20 people, followed by those over 56 (12) and those aged 18 to 35 (seven). By employment status, 22 were employed, 16 were unemployed or inactive and one was a student.

Among people receiving services for substance dependence, the bulletin counts 278 men and 90 women. Among the 283 people in care for alcohol, it counts 199 men and 84 women.

The bulletin completes the first phase of the Nexus observatory's publishing programme. The series is due to continue with a Nord-Ovest special that will compare data from the four regional bulletins published so far.
