Nevada regulators agree $7.8m Caesars settlement over bookmaker controls
Caesars Entertainment agreed to pay $7.8m under a settlement with Nevada state officials over its handling of bookmaker Mathew Bowyer, according to the report. Regulators found that Caesars properties allowed Bowyer to gamble for more than seven years despite concerns about his finances and background. Caesars did not admit wrongdoing, said it had co-operated with the investigation and outlined plans to strengthen compliance; officials were due to review the agreement at a public meeting later that month.
The settlement puts Caesars’ high-risk customer checks and compliance controls under regulatory scrutiny.
