NCAA sets player availability reporting rules for 2026 basketball tournaments
The NCAA said teams must submit player availability reports for every Division I men’s and women’s tournament game in 2026, with updates due no later than two hours before tip-off. It set institutional penalties of up to $10,000 for a first violation, $25,000 for a second and $30,000 for later violations, plus up to $10,000 for a head coach.
The requirements give betting operators and other stakeholders scheduled player-status information while setting penalties for non-compliance.
