NBA asks partner sportsbooks to restrict player props and parlays

Regulation

The NBA has asked its authorised sportsbook partners, including FanDuel and DraftKings, to bar certain wager types, reportedly in a memo sent on 16 October. The requested limits include player-prop parlays and bets on opening-tip winners, specific shots and players expected to play fewer than 12 minutes. The league also wants similar restrictions for sports event contracts, but enforcement is difficult without platform partnerships.

The requested restrictions could require sportsbook partners to change markets and limit some player-prop parlays.
