The lawmakers argue that states should retain authority over gaming-related products and warn that a ruling for Kalshi could prompt casinos and pari-mutuel businesses to restructure.
Robinhood and Crypto.com separately petitioned the US Supreme Court to consider whether sports event contracts are legal. Both companies confirmed their filings to the outlet on Friday.
Kalshi’s legal dispute over sports event contracts could reach the US Supreme Court next year if another appeals court rules against the company, reportedly according to gambling industry lawyers. A Nevada appeals panel heard arguments this week, while the report says a separate appeals court had earlier ruled in Kalshi’s favour against New Jersey.
