Meta has formed a team to develop a prediction platform internally called Arena, according to a media report. The experimental project is planned to begin with virtual scoring rather than real-money bets, and Meta declined to comment. The report says the company may consider financial betting at a later stage.
A Meta entry could add a major technology company to competition with existing prediction-market platforms.

New Jersey’s attorney general’s office sought an extension on 26 June to petition the US Supreme Court over prediction markets, according to reports. The state is considering a formal request by 4 September, while a bill that received an initial legislative approval would impose a 9% tax on prediction market operators.
DraftKings launched its DraftKings Predictions app in December 2025 and introduced its DKeX contracts market on 26 June 2026, according to the report. The company developed DKeX using technology and authorisations obtained through its acquisition of Railbird Technologies; the report also says a US professional basketball league expanded its agreement with DraftKings on 26 October to cover prediction markets.
DraftKings is developing its own event-contracts platform and expanding its presence in prediction markets, where it competes with platforms including Polymarket and Kalshi. The Boston-based company, listed on Nasdaq, operates through the independent group DraftKings Inc., which also owns Golden Nugget Online Gaming, acquired in 2022, and the digital lottery platform Jackpocket. Golden Nugget Online Gaming forms part of the group's online casino business, while the physical Golden Nugget casinos were excluded from that acquisition.
ProphetX and Boom Sports will integrate sports event contracts into Boom’s platform under a partnership announced on 2 September 2026. The contracts will cover game results, player performance and season-long futures, and will trade through ProphetX’s Commodity Futures Trading Commission-regulated exchange infrastructure.
