Mega-Sena jackpot rolls to R$230m, second-largest in history

No ticket matched all six numbers in Mega-Sena contest 3.073, drawn on 22 October in São Paulo, so the estimated prize for the next draw rises to R$230m. The next draw is scheduled for Sunday 25 October, also in São Paulo.

The estimate before the draw was R$206.4m. The numbers drawn were 4, 13, 23, 28, 41 and 58. In the secondary tiers, 203 bets matched five numbers and each received R$23,138.67, while 13,143 tickets matched four numbers and took R$510.55 each.

If the R$230m is paid in full at the next draw, it would be the second-largest prize distributed in regular Mega-Sena contests. The record is contest 2.525 of 1 October 2022, when two winning tickets shared R$317.8m. Second place is contest 2.150 of 11 May 2019, when a single winner took R$289.4m. The R$230m estimate also exceeds the most recent large prize, R$164.8m won by one bettor in contest 3.042 on 9 August this year.

Bets for the next draw can be placed at any lottery outlet in the country or through Caixa Econômica Federal's digital channels, with sales closing at 20:00 Brasília time. A minimum six-number bet costs R$6. Digital Bolões are available until 20:30, exclusively through the Loterias Online portal and the app. Online payment accepts PIX, credit card or internet banking for Caixa account holders, and players must be at least 18.

According to Caixa, the odds of winning the main prize vary with the number of numbers played. A minimum six-number bet has a one in 50,063,860 chance, while the maximum bet of 20 numbers, costing R$232,560, has a one in 1,292 chance. Bolões organised by accredited lottery outlets have a minimum value of R$18, with a minimum share per participant of R$7. Each Bolão can have from two to 100 shares, with up to 10 different bets, and a service fee of up to 35% may apply to each share. Mega-Sena holds three draws a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
