Massachusetts committee sends online casino bill to study phase
The Massachusetts Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies voted to send House Bill H.4431 to a study phase, ending its prospects for passage this legislative session. The proposal would have allowed the state’s three licensed casinos to offer online games and imposed a 15% tax on operator revenue; Representative David Muradian is expected to reintroduce it in the 2027–2028 legislative cycle.
Operators’ plans for a regulated Massachusetts online casino market remain on hold pending a future legislative cycle.
