MASAK expands investigation into Turkey’s illegal betting networks
Turkey’s Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) is examining betting-related financial data as part of the country’s 2025–2026 action plan, according to the report. Investigators are reviewing nearly 14 million pieces of user data, more than 14,000 deposit accounts and 52,000 withdrawal accounts; domestic reports say over three million Turkish ID numbers have been linked to gambling-related activity.
Payment providers and operators serving Turkish customers face heightened scrutiny of accounts and transactions linked to illegal betting.
