Aurelio Marguerettaz, a candidate for president of Italy’s Valle d’Aosta region, said on 5 November 2026 that authorities should assess whether to tender management of the Saint-Vincent casino and Grand Hôtel Billia to a private operator. He said the evaluation would follow the concordat and draw on studies commissioned from Finaosta.
Aurelio Marguerettaz, a candidate for president of the Valle d'Aosta region, presented a government programme to the Consiglio Valle on 5 November 2026. The Consiglio Valle was meeting in an extraordinary session to elect the region's new president and assessors.
Marguerettaz said the programme's approach stands: to assess a possible tender to a private operator for management of the Saint-Vincent casino and the Grand Hôtel Billia. He said the assessment would come after the concordat and rest on studies and analyses entrusted to Finaosta.
Marguerettaz said decisions on the casino's future must rest on solid assessments covering business prospects, employment, and the effects on Saint-Vincent and the regional economy. He added that the Council must have the elements it needs to exercise its guidance and oversight functions fully.
