Malaysia deputy PM says illegal gambling bill is under parliamentary review
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said Malaysia’s proposed law to address illegal gambling is under federal lawmakers’ review. He hopes to table it in the next parliamentary session; the proposal could be a standalone act or amend existing cybercrime legislation and would expand authorities’ powers against illegal operators.
The proposal could broaden police and government agencies’ powers to act against illegal gambling operators.
