Macau Judiciary Police report 2,314 gaming-related cases in 2025

Enforcement & compliance

Macau’s Judiciary Police reported 2,314 gaming-related investigations and cases in 2025, up 62.6% year on year. Police attributed part of the increase to a law criminalising gambling-linked illegal money exchange and to improved reporting; illegal gambling-loan cases fell 23.8% to 192, while gambling-related detention cases declined 40.4% to 28.

The case figures and enforcement focus give Macau gaming operators a clearer picture of risks linked to illegal money exchange.
