Lumbee Tribe schedules June vote on casino gaming authority

Regulation

The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina scheduled a special election for 23 June 2026 on whether to authorise its Tribal Council to regulate casino gaming, according to reports published on 9 May. If voters approve the constitutional amendment, the tribe could pursue a casino on its land in Robeson County; it has not publicly identified a casino partner.

The vote could determine whether the tribe can advance casino plans on its Robeson County property.
