Lotteritilsynet seeks Rikstoto report after unpaid bets in Norway

Regulation

Norway’s Lotteritilsynet has requested a full report from Norsk Rikstoto after system failures accepted bets without payment in February and March, according to the report. Between 3 and 5 February, 5,158 customers placed 23,716 unpaid bets; the regulator is also questioning why the March incident was reported after the required 72-hour period. Rikstoto did not charge customers retrospectively, citing their responsible-gambling limits.

Rikstoto’s review highlights compliance risks around unpaid bets, reporting delays and responsible-gambling limits.
