Italian police found irregularities at three betting shops in Syracuse during inspections, according to a media report. One shop operated without a licence or SCIA authorisation; two others lacked a designated representative, and one also displayed unauthorised advertising. The administrative fines totalled €7,490, the report said.
Police in Catania seized six non-compliant terminals at a private club and issued administrative sanctions totalling €303,000, according to the report. Officers also identified people at the venue and found that some visitors were not registered as members.

The 33-year-old operator allegedly took bets at the counter, kept a commission and paid winnings; police referred him to judicial authorities, with the presumption of innocence applying.
