In brief

  • Indiana's ATC requires a type II gaming endorsement to conduct, sell, distribute or manufacture type II games.
  • The initial retailer endorsement fee is $250.

Anyone who wishes to conduct type II gaming has to secure an endorsement for it from the ATC beforehand. Sellers, distributors and manufacturers of type II gambling games likewise need an endorsement.

Oversight and administration of type II gaming in Indiana rest with the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, known as the ATC. Type II gaming covers pull tab, punchboard and tip board games that the Indiana Gaming Commission has approved, and the category also takes in raffles and sports-themed tip board and pull tab games. State law allows type II gambling in the bar area of retail businesses that serve alcohol, as well as on a jumbo boat.

Holders of an endorsement must complete and maintain quarterly reports, which need not be submitted to the ATC unless requested.
