Italy’s UIF updates suspicious-transaction rules for gaming providers

Regulation

Italy’s Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) will bring revised suspicious-transaction reporting instructions into force on 1 July 2026, replacing its 2011 measure and applying to gaming-service providers. The instructions require case-specific assessment rather than automatic reports based solely on thresholds or other listed indicators, and allow artificial-intelligence tools only as support with human review.

Gaming providers need to adjust reporting procedures to the new assessment, review and feedback requirements.
