Regulation

Italy’s Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) said its analysis found that proceeds linked to fraud are sometimes used for gambling, alongside transfers and purchases of crypto-assets. The unit also described rapid movement of funds after they are credited, including transfers to other accounts, sometimes abroad. The report identifies gambling transactions as one channel used in these cases.

Operators may face heightened scrutiny of transactions linked to suspected fraud proceeds and rapid fund movements.
