Italian MPs question Polymarket-Lazio sponsorship under gambling rules

Regulation

Democratic Party MPs filed a further parliamentary question in Italy on the Polymarket sponsorship of S.S. Lazio, asking ministers to assess its compatibility with gambling, advertising and consumer-protection rules. The filing cites a reported agreement worth more than $22 million and says the Italian regulator blocked the platform in October 2025, while later allowing access to information features but not trading. Lazio said its Italian collaboration covers data analysis and digital insights, not trading functions.

The questions could prompt clarification of how Italian rules apply to prediction-market sponsorships in football.
