Indian Gaming Association challenges prediction markets over tribal revenue impact

Regulation

Indian Gaming Association chair David Bean said the group plans to pursue legal action against the Commodity Futures Trading Commission over sports betting prediction markets. Bean cited a New Mexico tribe's report that sports betting revenue had fallen 29% so far in 2026, which the tribe attributed to the markets; the IGA is gathering further revenue data and raising money for a legal defence fund.

The planned legal action and reported tribal revenue decline could intensify disputes over prediction markets and sports betting.
